Third Book Contract

I’m sorry I haven’t been keeping up with my blog. I wish I had this great excuse like I’ve been in the Amazon researching a book or on vacation in the Bahamas but the truth is I’ve just been too darn busy. Between my day job and writing in the evenings and most weekends it’s hard to find the time to blog—that and I usually don’t have anything interesting to say.

However, today I do. As a matter of fact I have wonderful news. I just signed my third book contract last week. As most of you know Every Skull Tells a Story was published two years ago. The prequel, Escape from the Darkness will be out in October, and now Ties That Bind in early 2010.

It has been a long road for Ties That Bind to get to this point. The publisher, Mundania Press, had the manuscript well over a year before making the decision to offer me a contract. Back in August, after several months of waiting, they wrote and told me that they liked the book but that they no longer publish Romantic Suspense and said they had this new imprint, Awe Struck Publishing, they thought would be a good fit and asked if they could keep it a bit longer. What could I say? So, after another 7 or 8 months, I finally received word that I’d made the cut. Needless to say I’ve been on cloud nine since I got the news.

Since I know I’ll be diving into the editing process soon, I’ve been working hard on my newest manuscript which I started about three weeks ago, knowing I’ll have to put it aside to work with the editor on Ties That Bind. This has been a great year as far as inspiration goes. Last November I started one and by New Years I had the first draft done. Then I finished one I had started before that one and wrapped it up about a month ago. It seems like I just finish one and bang another one moves into my head. Hey I’m not complaining. I’d rather have too many ideas floating around in my head than none at all.

Hope all is well with everyone. Stay safe and be blessed my friends!

Congratulations Anne! I'm looking forward to the prequel. Jo sounded very interesting in Every Skull and I was intrigued by the brief background you gave on her about how her career in the FBI had ended. I’m looking forward to hearing her whole story. What is Ties That Bind about? MB
