A NEW ADVENTURE

We made our reservations last week for our trip to Honduras in January. Now for the preparation. I’ve started my Hep A series (highly recommended) and I’ve started a diet to get in shape. Some of my team members have been to Honduras before and have warned me that the terrain is mostly mountains. The shape I’m in now I’ll never make it. So August 1st I started a new diet and I exercise daily. My goal is to lose at least thirty pounds (so far I’ve lost 5 lbs) and to strengthen my legs and arms. Sitting on my rear end most of the time has really taken a toll on my body. I know it’s going to be tough, but I know I can do it. I just have to stay focused. Most importantly I need to start preparing myself spiritually. Over the summer I’ve become lax in my Bible Studies. Next month our Bible Study class at church starts back up so that will help get me back into the grove.

I’m really looking forward to our new adventure. I travel with a great bunch. We always have a good time, despite some setbacks every now and then. What I love most about our mission trips is seeing God at work first hand. How he brings everything together in such a way we know without a doubt He is among us. He has taught me so much on these trips. Meeting other brothers and sisters in Christ from other cultures and sharing in their daily lives is also a blast. I’ve made some wonderful friends through the years and I’m so thankful that God allows me this wonderful privilege to travel to places I never dreamed of going to. If any of you are ever given the chance to take part in a mission trip do it. I promise you won’t regret it. It may even change your life!
