I know it’s been forever since I’ve blogged. I’m sorry. The only good excuse is that it’s summer time and I love the outdoors. Zoe does too. I barely get home from work and she lets me know it’s time to go to the park and hang out. Hope everyone had a good 4th of July weekend. I had a great one. My oldest niece and I went on a road trip. We met my brother and his daughter in Claremore OK and spent three days doing basically nothing but hanging out in the motel pool. We did do some sightseeing also. Claremore is located on the historic Route 66 and is the home of The Will Rogers Museum among other attractions. We visited a haunted mansion too. Can’t remember the name of it however. It was filled with beautiful antiques and had three stories to explore. We were a bit bumbed that we didn’t see any ghosts, but we had a good time anyway.

Along with some beautiful sunsets this summer, we’ve had some bad weather. In June we had baseball size hail that cost me a new roof and then last week we had a funnel cloud hang over our town for a good half hour that was awfully exciting. I’d just left the store and was on my way home and I saw this guy on the side of the rode on his cell phone pointing up at the sky. I look over and here’s this rope funnel cloud that is almost touching the ground a couple of blocks away. So I pull over and watch it for a few minutes (not very smart your probably thinking – but hey I hadn’t seen one since I was a kid growing up in Oklahoma)then I think hey I should get a picture of this. By this time the sirens were blowing, but I didn’t care I drove home got my camera (you’d think I’d learn to carry it with me) and drive up to the school so I can get a few shots. Of course by that time it had almost disipated. I still got a pretty good shot though.

Well I finished my latest book two months ago and have since been suffering from writers block. I’ve started two other stories and have gotten three or four chapters in and then I went blank. So I’ve decided to go back and polish up a few of my finished ones. I think the reason I haven’t been able to write is I was so bumbed out when Steeple Hill passed on the one I sent them. The editor had sounded so positive I just knew it was going to happen and it didn’t. She did ask me to send more of my work though so it didn’t hurt quite so bad.

On the work front I’m venturing into the world of Power Point Presentation. It has been an interesting experience to say the least. In the beginning I was stressed out and intimidated by the idea, but as it turns out it’s not nearly as difficult as I thought it was going to be and I’m starting to really enjoy it.

That’s about all the news I can think of right now. Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend. Stay safe and be blessed my friends!

Funnel Cloud

When I first saw this funnel cloud it was almost to the ground. It hung out over our town for a good twenty minutes or so. The weird thing is it wasn't raining or anything. It didn't even show up on the National Weather Service radar. And in case you're wondering I wasn't the only nut out taking pictures of it, the local news sations were flooded with pictures from other nuts like me. In all honesty if it had been any bigger I would have been the first to take cover. I may be a little crazy, but I'm not stupid!
